Custom Sizing Guide
Custom sizing is a wonderful option if you are between standard sizes or fall outside our standard height range. We tailor the dress to your exact 5 basic measurements—and it costs the exact same and takes the same amount of time as our standard size dresses.
Is It a "Perfect" Fit?
Minor Adjustments
Custom sizing provides a much closer fit, but because we only take 5 basic measurements, you may still need minor adjustments with a local seamstress for a flawless look.
Strap Lengths
Strap lengths are intentionally made slightly longer to accommodate different torso heights. They generally need to be pinned and tailored locally to fit your shoulders perfectly.
Reimbursements
To assist with final tailoring, we offer alteration reimbursements of up to $30 (depending on the dress ordered). Simply send us your tailor's receipt!
How to Measure
Use a Fabric Tape
Always use a soft fabric measuring tape over bare skin or form-fitting clothing. Avoid metal construction rulers.
Add a Little Ease
We highly recommend adding 0.25 to 0.5 inches to your bust, waist, and hip measurements to give yourself comfortable breathing and dancing room.
Measure As You Are
Never decrease your measurements or use a standard size chart to order a custom dress, even if you plan to lose weight before your event.
Friendly Reminders for Your Order
- Custom Sizing vs. Custom Design: Custom sizing tailors the fit, but it cannot change the fundamental design or proportions of the dress (e.g., changing a floor-length dress into a knee-length style).
- Please Don't Alter Your Height: Never change your Height or Hollow-to-Floor measurements to artificially adjust the skirt length. Doing so will shift the entire proportion, causing the waistline or neckline to sit incorrectly.
- Check Your Conversion: When converting your height to inches at checkout, please calculate carefully. For example, 5'6" equals 66 inches (5x12 + 6), not 56 inches.
Return Policy
We understand that unexpected circumstances like event cancellations can arise.
However, because custom-sized dresses are tailored specifically to your unique measurements, they cannot be resold.
Therefore, custom-sized dresses are strictly final sale and non-returnable for any reason.
